Remodeling projects can be overwhelming…

As we start on this journey, our goal is smooth sailing and happy clients. We find that the most streamlined way to execute your project is to break it down into three phases:

  • Phase 1: Design & Development

  • Phase 2: Procurement

  • Phase 3: Implementation

Below, we go into more detail about what you can expect during each phase. We find that projects are always the most successful when we provide our clear and established expectations that our clients can refer to throughout the project.

consultation & walk through

Our initial meeting is an especially important step in the process. This is a time for us to gather more information about you and how you live in your space. We will discuss what is working for you and what is not. Prior to this initial meeting, we will ask that you save photos of homes that you like in an idea book that we will collaborate on. These inspirational photos are a vital step to help us understand more about your design aesthetic. We will measure and sketch a layout and take photos of your home. We will discuss the planned investment amount, and timeline for the completion of the process. If you are ready to move onto the next steps, a contract will be signed, and a retainer deposit is collected to begin the project.

Presentation Meeting

The proposed design will be presented in the second meeting. Depending on the nature of the project, 2D and/or 3D drawings will be shared of the spaces being designed. We will discuss the design and layout of the space and any changes that might be made. Once the final design is approved, we will arrange to meet with the contractor(s) to go over the project, so that they may establish their bid.

Sourcing the highest quality materials

We have established relationships with trade vendors that provide us with a wider range of purchasing options than may be at your disposal purchasing retail.  We offer the best pricing possible, and in most cases, we can pass trade discounts directly on to you. Working with trade vendors helps to ensure the quality and timeliness of the ordering process. Our goal is to provide you with the best quality items that your investment amount allows.

Sourcing Materials

We have found that the most efficient way to select materials such as tile, countertops, and flooring, is to take our clients shopping.  There are so many options available for us to choose from that if the clients are willing, shopping together can save design time and money. This is especially true if everyone having input in the final decisions is present.

selecting Fixtures & Furnishings

Fixtures, furnishings, and décor will be presented on a concept board, where you can select from the proposed items that will be implemented in the final design.  The concept board will include options for lighting, plumbing fixtures, window treatments, color and textiles, furnishings, and décor items, etc.…

managing the Remodel

It’s the smallest details that are important to creating a beautifully finished space.  We will be consulting with the contractors to ensure that the design is being implemented as designed and these small details are tended to.   This communication can be via phone calls and text messages and we will visit the job site occasionally to help to keep things flowing smoothly. It is especially important for us to be involved when it comes time to rough in the lighting and plumbing fixtures.

Furniture install

Believe it or not, we are just as excited as you are to see the finished project!  The installation of the furnishings and décor items can occur in varying ways.  Sometimes, items will arrive independently of each other and other times, items will arrive all at once.  In most cases, we will be on-site to help to implement the final installation of everything.

adding the finishing touches

On occasion, there may be some small tasks that don't happen by "Install Day," we work with clients and necessary vendors to get those things wrapped up as quickly as possible.
